Can you briefly describe the flavor and feel of your campus?CCA has two campuses in the Bay Area, located in San Francisco and Oakland. The Oakland Campus idyllic and historic, with buildings dating back to the early 1900s. The San Francisco campus is innovative and vibrant, with award winning green buildings housing classrooms and studios. Both campuses feature state-of-the-art studios and encourage interaction of students across disciplines.
How many students do you have?1740 students, 1390 undergraduate and 350 graduate students from 31 states and 10 foreign countries
What is your largest major?Our largest undergraduate programs are Painting and Drawing, Design, Illustration and Photography. The largest graduate program is Fine Arts and Architecture
Can you briefly describe your financial aid?The college offers a generous merit and need-based scholarship program to qualified applicants. Students are also considered for numerous grants, loans, and work-study options. In all over 80% of CCA students receive some kind of financial assistance from various aid programs totaling more that $37 million per year.
Can you provide the number of scholarship programs?77% of students receive CCA scholarships. CCA provides more than $13 million of its own scholarships

Besides learning the nuts and bolts of creating art, how do you prepare your students business-wise for a career in the arts?CCA educates students to shape culture through the practice and critical study of the arts. Our students gain hands-on gallery experience through a variety of campus exhibition spaces. Also, our students are active in many pre-professional groups that are affiliated with corresponding Bay Area professional chapters: American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), and International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
How is your college involved in the community in which it is located?The Center for Art and Public Life provides paper writing service and leadership opportunities through their work, including the 100 Families project. CAPL strives to create community partnerships based on creative practice that serves both the college and the diverse population of Oakland, San Francisco, and beyond. Our curriculum also encourages working within our community through specialty studios and projects.
For students who live on campus, what features are there in the community for them to engage in?CCA's "living and learning" (themed hall) communities include the Artists' Retreat Community, the International and Multicultural Community, and Artists for Community. Pre-professional student groups active on campus include the American Institute of Architecture Students, the American Society of Interior Designers, and the Industrial Designers Society of America. There are also more than 20 student-initiated groups and clubs.
