On a4988 stepper drivers there is a voltage adjustment dial. Turning the dial down will reduce the heat in your motors. if you use the same motors as us then you want a reference voltage of 0.7v. the reference voltage can be checked by using a multimeter on the dial and the bottom right (gnd) pin. Do not turn the dial when the power is on! It can damage the driver.
Hi Dan,
Please answer my question. I want to make a Makelangelo by WeMos D1 R2 and Arduino CNC shield V3, but many people said to me that WeMos D1 R2 can’t connect with Arduino CNC shield V3. It is right? Besides, input voltage of Wemos (6-9V) and Arduino CNC shield V3 (12-36V) is different. So if I connect Wemos and Cnc shield, I should use input voltage 9 or 12V?
I have not personally done it so I can’t say for sure.
