    Put the positive lead of the multimeter on the stepper driver dial.
    Put the negative lead on the bottom right pin.
    The voltage should be ~1.7. At that temp the motors won’t be cooking hot.
    Adjust the dial only when the power is off. Changing it while the power is on could damage the chip. Use very small turns – 5 or 10 degrees makes a big difference!
    1.5v-1.8v is a good range.

    Can I confirm- clockwise = increase; counterclockwise = decrease

    My stepper motors are extremely hot.
    DCV 2,000m shows 602 DCV 20 shows 0.60

    Much better. Not overheating.
    Clockwise is higher. Counter clockwise is lower.
    One symptom worth noting in too little current, is that the counter weights will come up but not go back down if there isn’t enough electricity.
