I recently built a drawbot with a new arduino and motorshield V2.
I can get it to work with V5 of Makelangelo.
I also downloaded the latest version (7.3.4), but when I run that, none of the buttons to start the drawing (start, start at line, pause, etc.) work. It’s a windows 10 machine and I just double click on the .jar file.

Also, it seems to me that the arduino file should be updated to call out the default shield address (and the date in the initial comment updated).

    It’s super cool. Thanks!

Ahh, I see this nugget in the blog. Will try that soon.

Over the weekend Makelangelo software has a small upgrade to 7.3.4. The “start”, “start at line #”, “top”, “left”, “right”, “bottom”, and “go home” buttons are now automatically disabled until you hit the home button. This is to prevent user error at the start – they’re not meaningful if the robot hasn’t already found it’s starting home position.

    Sorry – I didn’t see this before I opened a similar topic.

I have the same issue in W7, only hitting “set home” does not un-grey the “home” button, which means I cannot un-grey the start button.

top, left, right and bottom buttons all work but “Home” does not.

Ugi – please confirm you are running v7.4.5. the 7.3.4 is known to have that bug.

As per other thread – now have 7.3.5 and that issue seems resolved.

Have the “only one motor holding” issue but I guess that’s in the firmware.

    Cheers

I mean 7.4.5 – the one you liked to in the other thread.

    Right, 7.4.5 fixes this issue.
    Thanks!

Where can I find what the various controls do?
I have to confess that not all are immediately obvious.
