Trying to install Makelangelo on a MacBook Pro I borrowed from a friend so I can verify my connections.
The first message I receive after clicking the Start OS X command is about the laptop security preferences being set so that only Apple Store apps are trusted. The help menu gives me the advice to control click the file, and then choose “open” which results in a dialogue box which allows me to click that I trust the application. The program didn’t fully run, so I repeated the control click, allow to run setting on the Makelangelo.jar file. Clicking this file allowed the picture to show, the language to be selected, and the beautiful interface to open.
Version 7.1.3The Connection option is a
tty.usbmodem1421
The port opens, but nothing happens. (Much like my Win 7 PC)
Is there another file that needs a control click to have the trust settings changed?
I’m so eager to see the “Hello World” message and start making.Birdwalk- the PC language choices and the Mac choices are in the reverse order.

Have you installed the makelangelo-firmware on your Arduino board?

Do you have experience writing support tickets? You’re very good.

The Arduino file firmware_ams ino has an error compling. It’s the same one as on my PC (void AF_Stepper: :onestep(uint8_t)
Here are some screen shots of the difficulties overcome- I think these are related to Norton protection.

Start OS X The Terminal command didn’t complete- error
The function CGCodntextErase is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately this application or a Library it uses is using this obsolete function, and is therby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance.
Exception in thread “main” java.lang UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/marginallyclever/makelangelo/Makelangelo : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0Progress
The Makelangelo Jar file will make the picture appear, the language preference start,
The Arduino will connect- Hello World!
Version 7.1.3Next step
