How do I install / setup the software?

I’ve fallen at the first fence! I want to make a v-plotter and have tried to download and install the MAKELANGELO software and firmware. Downloads were successful, (and yes I made a donation) but now what? I have unzipped files but cannot install/setup MAKELANGELO. Please help?
Why can’t you install/setup the firmware? What error message do you get? Help me help you: be thorough!
