I´m converting stl-files from 3D-Software to svg-files.
With Makelangelo I convert the file to ngc.
The drawings have a strange order. The machine begins above,
makes one or two lines, then the penholder moves down, draw
one or two lines, move to the left, …
I would like to order the lines, so that Makelangelo has less
way to move.
Do you know a software to order the drawings lines?

Here you can see, what I mean:
I was just thinking to ask the same thing. I’m using a whiteboard so drawing from the top down is preferred. If drawn from the bottom up the weight or the servo will erase some of what I’ve drawn once it gets up high enough.
Currently, the order of lines drawn from DXF/SVG files is controlled by the software that created those SVG/DXF files. I can see how there might be a way to sort each shape by starting Y value top-down…
Also please note SVG files probably have a number of shapes that Makelangelo software can’t handle. at the moment it ignores anything that isn’t a path. rectangles, ellipses, and other types of shapes won’t be drawn.
Yes, it´s controlled by the software. I have tried to change the order in Adobe Illustrator,
but it did not work…
