Changing pens mid drawing

Is there a way I can swap pens mid drawing so I can do multi-color images? I saw a passing mention of it somewhere (swapping tools in GCode language I guess). I realise I can do it manually, by hitting pause. But is there a way of programming the pause/wait into the GCode? I’m drawing large images and the chances are I wouldn’t be able to manually pause at just the right moment for a pen color change.

I’m using Makelangelo V1 on OSX.

To provide one possible answer to my own question. I ended up just making two separate NGC files, one for each color. When the first drawing finished I would manually change the pen and then load in the new NGC for the new color. The alignment between the two images seemed spot on so this worked ok.

Nice! I’d love to see what you create. I don’t know anyone else doing multi-color drawings yet.
