PancakeBot is an open source, open hardware breakfast making robot made from LEGO . Miguel built the version 1 for his daughters and since then it has appeared at the NY Maker Faire, on TV, and his videos have gone viral. See what all the fuss is about
Once you get first principles working they become like building blocks – it’s easy to reuse them over and over again. Take a look at what you can do with a steady supply of linear actuators. So many great CNC machines from the one mechanism!
I think the lesson here is study hard and make sure you know your fundamentals. Learning music? Practice your arpeggios. Programming? Get your design patterns memorized. Homework, homework, homework.
I’m still waiting to see someone do something awesome with Rolamite. Will anyone accept the challenge?
In a recent post about delta robot phone testing I showed an image of one of our Delta robots made from laser cut acrylic. In that model the plastic parts still had their blue protective cover. Here it is with the blue peeled off.
