Makelangelo software update, May 2015
I’m delighted to announce the Makelangelo software update v7.1.0 is now available for download. At the Bay Area Maker Faire, May 16 & 17 I will be giving hands-on demonstrations and talking about our exciting future.
What’s changed?
- Added Voronoi stippling style
- The Arduino firmware included in the package supports polargraph machines like Makelangelo, traditional XY systems, and CoreXY systems.
- All graphics now run in OpenGL with jogamp. Faster graphics, more responsive UI.
- Added loading splash screen
- All robot-specific menus are now on the right hand side.
- The menus have been cleaned up to be more intuitive.
- French, italian, dutch, german, russian, arabic, mandarin and other languages are in or on the way. (thanks, Fiverr!)
- Due to the number of downloads, the latest release is now located on github instead of our web server.
I’ve also rewritten large parts of the Makelangelo 2.5.2 instructions and the Makelangelo 3.2 instructions based on the changes and great feedback from users like Robert Platts.
This update wouldn’t have been possible without the incredibly patient help from Peter Colapietro over at MakeHartford.
