Two voices with one speaker, classic 1980s chip tunes style
We built an Arduino Tetris game with the Arduino Starter Kit and we played music with a piezoelectric speaker from the same kit, so it’s only natural to combine the two and add Tetris music to our game.
I put out a request on the VHS forum for a musician to transcribe the Tetris sheet music into the piezo sketch on github and Luke Cyca answered the call. Not only did he transcribe the music, but he did a lead and a base line and got them to play together at once!
Luke’s method is to play one note at a time AND switch between each note really quickly. This is reminiscent of the classic chip tunes in the games of my youth. <nostalgia> Back then I played on an 8088 computer with one speaker, and having sound at all was still a new thing. And computer screens with more than two colors? Luxury!

Now that I have the music, I’m just waiting on permission to put his rendition into the open source code. It’ll probably on the title screen between games.
